CONTRASTIVE GRAMMAR

The course aims to introduce the students to the common points and the differences between the grammatical systems of French and Polish, on the level of phonetics/phonology (different ways of articulation and diffrerent prosody), of inflexional morphology (the system of cases in Polish and corresponding structures in French), of word formation, of syntax (the articles; the agreement and the government, the syntax of numerals; the construction of complex sentences and the use of participles) as well as of the lexicon. Some time will also be devoted to theoretical questions.
