1. The students may pass their examinations in the winter session, the summer session and the repeat session (in winter and in autumn), as well as in so-called pre-sessions (sesja zerowa) in terms proposed by the teachers. A pre-session term is treated as the first term, which means that an absence implies the loss of one term.

2. If allowed by the Director for students' affairs, a student may pass an examination in another term that given above, especially if he has to compensate for programme differences.

3. Each examination may be passed two times, i.e. in the first term and in the repeat term. This does not apply to students who have lost one term for different reasons (credit for a matter granted only during the session running, absence on the first term).

4. A positive note (from 3 until 5+) is final; the examination may not be repeated.

5. An absence on an examination in a given term automatically involves the loss of this term. If the absence is due to an illness, the student may demand its restoration. Other reasons for absence should be signalled to the Director for students' affairs, who then takes an appropriate decision.

The demand of restoring an examination term (including the medical confirmation of a sick leave) should be submitted within ten days from the given day of the examination.

6. The students have the right to appeal within seven days to the Director of the IFS against a decision concerning examinations, if he can prove partiality or another breaking of rules during the examination; the Director can grant a commission evaluation. The commission examination should take place within fourteen days from the submission of the appropriated application.
