I. TYPES OF COURSES

  1. Classes
  2. Lectures in obligatory subjects (Ist part of the studies); they are given in order to help the students to prepare their examination in a given subject.
  3. Introductory seminars (IIIrd year); it aims to prepare the students to work on themselves as in the master seminar.
  4. Monographic lecture (IVth and Vth year); it is focused on one problem or one author, in order to give the students a more profound knowledge.
  5. Thematic seminar (IVth and Vth year); it is an introduction for the students to work on one problem on themselves.
  6. Master seminar (IVth and Vth year).

II. TYPES OF SUBJECTS

The subjects are divided into three groups:

  1. Obligatory subjects (PO)
  2. Specialized subjects (PP)
  3. Free choice subjects (PW)

The students must apply on themselves for admission in the chosen courses given in other units than the IFS.

All the PO and PP subjects are taught in French, with the exception of Introduction to Linguistics, Political regime of France, Psychology and Pedagogy.

The PW courses may be given in polish or in a foreign language.

A surplus of points for the PP subjects may be counted as PW, but not the other way.

Some of the PW subjects can be attended in the IFS, as there are classes given by invited teachers, e.g. Philosophy, Sociology, Economy, Political Regime of France, Psychology, Pedagogy. All they appear in the agenda for a given academic year.

III. LIST OF THE SUBJECTS

Non-obligatory subjects, for which no points are accorded: lectures in

  1. Phonology of French (FON),
  2. Descriptive grammar of French (GO),
  3. History of France (HF),
  4. History of French Literature (HLF).
